The effect of dermal fillers is largely visible right away - the change in shape and volume is noticeable as soon as the treatment is finished. That said, what you see immediately afterward isn't quite the final result yet.
In the first two to three days, mild swelling, tenderness, or light bruising can appear at the treated area, which is a normal tissue response. Because of this, the face may look slightly "fuller" than it will once the tissue fully settles. As that short-term swelling fades, the filler gradually distributes evenly within the tissue.
Results are assessed once swelling and tenderness settle, often after one to two weeks. Timing depends on the product, treated area and tissue response; some patients need longer. Your clinician determines when to assess the result and whether a touch-up is appropriate.
How long the effect lasts depends on the product, treated area and individual characteristics. Different fillers should not be expected to last equally long. The expected effect of the specific product planned for treatment is discussed at the consultation.
During your consultation with Dr Maja Simić in Belgrade, you can discuss the choice of hyaluronic acid filler, expected results and changes you may notice in the days and weeks after treatment.
