How long do hyaluronic acid fillers last?

The effect of hyaluronic acid fillers usually lasts between 9 and 18 months. There is no single duration that applies to everyone - it depends on the treated area, the type of filler and the patient's individual characteristics.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally in the skin, so a filler based on it is gradually broken down over time. As a result, the effect does not disappear suddenly, but fades gradually.

The result is visible almost immediately, and the final appearance stabilises over one to two weeks as the filler settles into the tissue. Regular maintenance can extend the period between treatments, but the exact plan depends on how the tissue responds.

During a consultation about hyaluronic acid fillers with Dr Maja Simić in Belgrade, you can discuss the choice of product, the treatment areas and how long the effect can be expected to last in your case.
