Lower Blepharoplasty — A Refreshed Gaze Without Signs of Fatigue

Lower blepharoplasty is the surgical correction of under-eye bags and excess skin below the eyes, designed for individuals who wish to restore a rested and youthful facial expression.
This subtle intervention removes puffiness, dark circles and wrinkles in the area below the eyes, returning softness and freshness to the face — without changing expression.

What is lower blepharoplasty?

Over the years, the skin below the eyes becomes thinner and loses elasticity, while fat pads become more pronounced.
With lower blepharoplasty:

  • excess fatty tissue is removed or redistributed
  • skin is tightened
  • fine lines are softened

The procedure is performed through an inconspicuous incision just below the lashes, or — in younger patients — transconjunctivally (from inside, with no external scar).

When is it the right choice?

Lower blepharoplasty is suitable for individuals who have:

  • pronounced under-eye bags or "pockets" below the eyes
  • excess skin and wrinkles in the lower eyelid region
  • a tired appearance despite adequate rest
  • a desire for long-lasting, natural rejuvenation of the periorbital area

The procedure can be combined with:

  • lipofilling
  • upper blepharoplasty
  • PRP treatment
  • temporal lift

...to achieve a uniform and refreshed appearance of the entire eye region.

The procedure

  • Performed under local anaesthesia with sedation
  • Lasts approximately 60–90 minutes
  • Excess fatty tissue is removed or repositioned
  • Skin is tightened and adapted to the natural contour of the lower eyelid

The result is a smoother, tighter and brighter area below the eyes, without changes to natural facial expression.

Recovery and results

  • Mild swelling and bruising may be present during the first week
  • After 10–14 days, the face looks rested and refreshed
  • Final result forms over several weeks, as tissue fully settles
