How long do Aptos threads last?

The effect of Aptos thread lifting lasts 18–24 months, depending on the type of threads and skin structure.

Aptos threads are resorbable - they are made of polylactic acid and caprolactone, materials that fully break down in the skin. As they break down, they stimulate new collagen formation.

This is why the effect has two phases. The lift is visible immediately after treatment, thanks to the threads' bidirectional barbs. Over the following months, the effect builds as collagen stimulation makes the skin firmer and more elastic.

How long the result lasts for a particular patient also depends on the degree of skin laxity and individual tissue characteristics.

During a consultation about Aptos threads with Dr Maja Simić in Belgrade, you can discuss thread selection, treatment areas and how long the effect can be expected to last.
