A change in the shape of the nose is visible once the protective mask is removed, but this is not yet the final result. Rhinoplasty results mature gradually as the swelling subsides.
Mild swelling and bruising are expected in the first week and then gradually fade. Over the following months, the shape of the nose continues to change, and swelling may take about a year to settle completely.
That is why the finer details of the shape are assessed only once the tissue has settled. The pace of healing varies from patient to patient.
